Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 Baisakh 2083 (25 April 2026)

Vidyalaya handles data about children. We take that responsibility seriously — this policy explains, in plain language, exactly what we collect and how we protect it.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Vidyalaya (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects information when schools, staff, parents and students use our platform. By using Vidyalaya, the school (as data controller) and its users agree to this policy.

2. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to run school operations, including:

  • Student records — name, roll number, class, guardian contacts, attendance and marks.
  • Staff records — name, role and contact details.
  • Account & usage data — login details, device information and activity logs.

3. How we use data

Data is used solely to provide and improve the service the school has asked for — recording attendance, publishing results, sending notices, generating documents, and producing reports. We never sell data or use student information for advertising.

4. Sharing of information

Information is shared only with the school's authorised users and with trusted processors (such as email delivery providers) strictly to deliver the service. We may disclose data where required by Nepali law.

5. Data security

All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. We perform daily backups, enforce role-based access control, and restrict staff access to production data. Security is reviewed regularly.

6. Your rights

Schools can access, correct or export their data at any time, and request deletion when their contract ends. Parents and staff should direct such requests to their school, which controls the data.
